Bold, Organic Coffee from the Gayo Highlands
High in the lush hills near Tingkem in Northern Sumatra, this flavourful coffee is grown by a dedicated group of 400 smallholder farmers. Each family-run plot forms part of 450 hectares of rich volcanic soil—perfect for cultivating the bold, full-bodied flavors that make Gayo coffee so distinctive.
What makes it truly special? It starts with the land—nutrient-rich volcanic loam—and a climate that’s just right for growing exceptional beans. Add in traditional organic farming practices, and you get a coffee that’s smooth, smoky, and packed with natural depth. No synthetic chemicals are used, and every farmer receives expert training in tree care, harvesting, and environmentally friendly methods to support long-term sustainability.
Carefully Crafted from Start to Finish
After the cherries are handpicked, they undergo a 12-hour fermentation process before being dried in stages and hulled. The beans are then sent to Medan, where they’re dried again, packed in eco-conscious GrainPro bags, and shipped out fresh to preserve quality and flavor.
Overseeing the entire process is PT Orion Gandatama Perkasa—our trusted export partner since 2016. They work hand-in-hand with co-ops across the Gayo Highlands, running modern mills and ensuring every step meets high standards for quality and sustainability.
