Formerly Riverside, Wolfie blends the beloved backbone of Sussex Barn with the body of Dark Side, elevated by 30% naturally processed Ethiopia Yirgacheffe — a lot we call “Sweet Berry Natural.” This high-grown heirloom coffee from southern Ethiopia brings juicy fruit notes, floral depth, and a touch of wild sweetness to the rich chocolate, caramel, and citrusy apple-like acidity from Brazil and Guatemala.
Why the change?
The name Wolfie is rooted in our own journey. Our family name, Edgcumbe-Rendle, was once at the heart of our business, Edgcumbes. As we evolved into EDGE, we embraced a more contemporary identity — one that reflects our mission to make exceptional coffee an essential part of everyday life. We’ve kept the wolf in our logo as a symbol of loyalty, instinct, and quiet strength. Wolves, like coffee, are perfect for moments of solitary focus or shared connection.
The Roast & Craft
Wolfie is roasted to a medium colour — precisely ten degrees beyond first crack over 90 seconds to two minutes — allowing sugars to develop slowly without pushing the coffee too dark. The natural-processed Ethiopian component demands careful heat management to preserve its delicate florals, and our Geisen roasters are engineered for exactly this style of precision roasting.
