Araku Coffee – A Cup with a Story

About Araku Coffee

Araku Coffee is a premium single-origin coffee grown in the breathtaking Araku Valley of Andhra Pradesh, India. Cultivated by small tribal farmers dedicated to regenerative agriculture, this coffee is a testament to sustainability, quality, and tradition.

The Farmers Behind the Coffee

Pangi Budhranna and her husband Simalu, a dedicated farming couple from the small village of Gummaguda, have been at the heart of Araku Coffee’s success. With no traditional knowledge of coffee cultivation, they embraced sustainable farming techniques and transformed their small plot into a thriving coffee farm. Their passion and commitment to organic, high-quality coffee have made them respected leaders in their farming community.

Ethically Grown, Sustainably Produced

The farmers carefully nurture each coffee plant using organic methods, ensuring that every bean is grown with respect for the land and the community. This dedication to ethical farming results in a coffee that is not only delicious but also contributes positively to the environment.

Flavour Profile

Rich and Balanced Taste

Expect a bold, full-bodied cup with a smooth and balanced finish. The Sln9 variety—a hybrid of Ethiopian Tafarikela and Timorese Hybrido—offers a unique depth of flavour, making every sip rich and satisfying.

Complex Notes

Notes of dark chocolate, caramel, and a hint of spice create a well-rounded taste experience. With its naturally low acidity, Araku Coffee is easy on the stomach while still providing a robust and aromatic drinking experience.

Sustainability & Community Impact

Empowering Farmers & Communities

Through the ‘Arakunomics’ model, this coffee supports sustainability, fair wages, and community development. The initiative has been recognized globally, winning the Food Vision 2050 prize from the Rockefeller Foundation.

A Commitment to the Future

This model ensures that farmers receive fair compensation for their hard work while also promoting eco-friendly farming techniques that restore and enrich the soil. By choosing Araku Coffee, you are directly supporting a network of over 500 villages and thousands of farmers working towards a more sustainable and equitable future.

Brewing Suggestions

Best Brewing Methods

Ideal for French press, espresso, and pour-over methods. Enjoy it black to appreciate its full character or add milk for a smooth, creamy texture.

Perfect Your Brew

For the best experience, use freshly ground beans and pure water at around 90-95°C. For a more adventurous twist, try it as a cold brew to highlight its natural sweetness and smooth body. The result is a refreshing, slightly nutty iced coffee that’s perfect for warm days.
