Peru El Oso - Swiss Water Decaf

Peru El Oso – Swiss Water Decaf with a Wild Side

Decaf, but make it remarkable. Peru El Oso is naturally decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Process, a chemical-free method that keeps every ounce of flavour intact. Grown in the lush buffer zones of Peru’s Santuario Nacional Tabaconas Namballe, this coffee supports conservation efforts for the endangered spectacled bear while delivering a decaf experience that’s anything but boring.

The Swiss Water Difference

Unlike conventional decaf methods, which rely on chemicals, the Swiss Water Process uses just water, temperature, and time to gently remove caffeine. This method:

  • Protects the coffee’s flavour integrity, preserving the vibrant notes of Stone Fruits, Hazelnut and Cocoa.
  • Guarantees 99.9% caffeine-free coffee without a hint of compromise.
  • Is certified organic, aligning perfectly with the eco-friendly ethos of the El Oso Project.

More Than Just Decaf

Peru El Oso isn’t just about crafting exceptional coffee—it’s about creating a positive impact. The El Oso Project works hand-in-hand with farmers to protect Peru’s delicate forest ecosystems. Initiatives include:

  • Reforestation: Planting native tree species to maintain habitats for endangered wildlife.
  • Providing tools like solar drying tents and composting warehouses to reduce environmental impact.
  • Supporting workshops that empower farmers to grow sustainably and improve coffee quality.

Flavour Without Compromise

Grown at altitudes of 1350–1890m, this high-scoring coffee (SCA 82) proves that decaf can still deliver bold, vibrant flavour. The Swiss Water Process ensures every sip is clean, smooth, and full of character, showcasing the essence of its Peruvian origin.

Coffee That Cares

Produced by the Cooperativa Agraria Frontera San Ignacio, Peru El Oso is Fairtrade and Organic certified, ensuring ethical and sustainable practices at every step. The cooperative’s commitment to quality extends to owning its own dry milling facilities, giving farmers full control and returning more value to the community.
